Thai companies possess the largest branding experience in the South East Asian region. Thailand is way ahead of Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia in exporting products that bear their own countries' labels.
Thai companies have also been aggressive in protecting brand names internationally, understanding that it gives them a competitive advantage.
Thailand benefits from a large exposure to importers and foreign organizations. This has made it easy for Thai firms to learn about international brand management. The stock market is better developed than in several other markets in the region.
In our opinion, Thai brands present a great opportunity for value increases, provided the political situation is stable.
